When: Exhibition starts Saturday April 1st through to May 20th.
Where: Caffe Sempre, Whyalla. South Australia.Business Hours: Mon - Friday 7am - 4pm. Saturday 9am till 2pm (closed Sunday).
I will be exhibiting several of my paintings in what I'm calling “Paint the Town Red” - a showcase of both new and rarely seen large oil paintings.
The title is a suggestion of optimism or celebration, but the colour is also a reference to the red fugitive dust generated by the industry in the area of Whyalla.
I hope you get a chance to visit Sempre for a squizz, and also take up the chance to win one of the paintings (details here)
The display of my work at Sempre will feature everything from large still life, some portrait work, a large Art Prize finalist painting as well as work from the SA Touring Arts collective “Tougher Love” which toured the state regional galleries for two years.
One of the things I am really excited about is the 'Red Raffle' in which I am giving away a painting to one lucky art enthusiast. Is that you? Would you like to have one of my paintings for free?I'll include a photo of the painting in the entry link below.
For a chance to win, all you have to do is simply answer my question "what colour should you paint the town?"The 'RED RAFFLE' link below will take you to my simple entry page, with the details and a photograph of the artwork which I am giving away during the exhibition.
All names of those entering will be placed in a 'lucky dip' type box at the cafe, with the winner being drawn by the owner of Sempre (Sandro) close to the end of the exhibition.
Good Luck and thank you for looking at my work!- Leith
