"THE JAZZ SINGER" (PASTEL ON PAPER) 
This was the first of the three larger pastels and really isn't anyone in particular. It was certainly inspired by several gifted singers I have listened to over the years, who seemed to possess the natural ability to make a song their own. Ella Fitzgerald, Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin and Cassandra Wilson all played a part in this one..
