"DYLAN" Oil On Canvas

"Dylan"

I had so much fun doing the Paul Kelly painting, I thought I would have a shot at one of Kelly's major influences.. Bob Dylan.

I had an old crumpled black and white shot from a newspaper article hanging around in a drawer so I used that for reference along with my memory of a live "MTV Unplugged" video I have ( I'm sure he was wearing this spotted shirt). So it's Zimmy of old but wearing his "new" shirt.

For inspiration I dug out my copy of "Blonde on Blonde", "Slow Train Coming" and a greatest hits CD. I managed to see Dylan play live some years ago in Adelaide and have always been a big fan of his songwriting. His harmonica playing? Well, that's another story..

Don't paint twice, it's alright..
